C485 Naval Brass

C485 is similar to C464 and the trace amount of lead added to C485 provides much better machinability and the substitution of tin for zinc creates excellent corrosion resistance by seawater and dezincification. Good for hot-forming applications, but is not recommended for cold working. This alloy is also resistant to wear, fatigue, galling and stress corrosion cracking. Can be readily brazed or soldered.
