Kovar

Kovar, also known as Rodar, is an iron nickel cobalt alloy and a registered trademark of CRS Holding. It was specifically developed and formulated as a sealing alloy for ceramic and glass materials due to the compatibility with the thermal expansion characteristics of borosilicate glass. Kovar/Rodar is used in industrial manufacturing primarily in medical, electronics and semiconductor fields.
